A few months ago, there is this very very famous movie from Taiwan (who watches movies from Taiwan?) which is quite controversial at first. Heard from my friend that it is uber nice and a must watch movie, but was banned in the local cinema. I guess they did alot of edits because after that it was on screen and tickets was selling like hot cakes.

Imagine, we (me and my friends) were uber busy during last semester and was only able to go watch it after a few weeks it was on screen. Even then, we couldnt get tickets for the movie as it was all sold-out. Can you imagine the madness??

I went to watch the movie on one fine day, thanks to my friends who manage to secure the tickets. xD Well, definitely a nice movie, but maybe due to language barrier and also high expectations ( too many people telling me the movie is soo damn good ) it didnt affect me as much as it should (according to other people's testimony). Did get me emo for a few days tho... -.-

Anyways, the song is quite meaningful, if you have a life in school, you should be able to relate. So here is the video some Malaysians, to be more exact, Sitiawanians came up with... I'd say, not bad, quite good actually :)

Just finished my final exam few days ago. I didn't do well, even gave up and walked out early on my last paper. I know the consequences, but nothing came to my brain, and whatever I studied didn't come out so, yeah!

Anyways, life is too short to be emo over that paper. I just can hope and pray that I at least pass on other papers, so that I wont be coming back for so many more papers. *fingers crossed*

Holidays is short too, and with the thesis pending approval, I have so-much-but-so-little time... geddit? So much time because I'm on holiday, but holiday doesn't mean holiday cause the thesis is pending approval. Sigh.

Alright, up to this point you must be thinking, "hopeless student." Well, I just don't believe in getting very good marks, but missed on on life on the way...

Also, this post is also a reminder for myself that I have alot of post pending.

This is a scheduled post. IF you're reading this it means that well, I AM HAVING MY DREADFUL EXAMS T_____T or it could also mean that I am done with exams.... LOL

If you saw my post a few weeks ago, you would have known I WENT TO MUAR FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME!!! :)

It was a last-minute-one-day trip down south. Never been to Johor before in the 22 years of my life. The furthest I went was to Melaka. hehe... Well, the trip wasn't totally random as well... Had been told last minute that "my exception" is going to be there, so decided to 'crash the party'. That's for another post.

Well, that morning was feeling zombified because we slept very very late and forced ourselves to wake up super early in the morning. Need to wake up early and rush there for lunch because we'll be there only for a few hours and it's a bit stupid to drive so far and not taste the local food there right? Ohhh btw, by early, we meant leave KL at 11something. ^_^

So yeah, after 2 hours plus journey, we finally arrived at the legendary town Muar (No offense, but everytime I say the word Muar, my mind goes Muarhahahaha... hope I don't blurt it out xD)

Armed with the one and only 50mm lens, I braved my way through Muar town... Chewah, sound so yeng like that.

Went back to my friend's house first to leave out stuff there. You'll never believe how much stuff we brought there although it's just a one-day trip. Maybe I should learn to pack light hehehe...

Nope, it's not confused of its own gender, but my friend told me that back in those days (or is it just a few years ago? I don't know) when someone has the say, they decided to paint every street with different colour.

So, if Street A is blue, then the buildings in Street A shall be blue and only blue.

And this is a corner shop, so it lies in between the blue and the pink territory.

Thus, the half blue and half pink colour.

But, quite nice also what.....

The stall is damn kua cheong 1 ok.. Had so much pork it could feed an entire village for lunch and dinner i tell you. Apparently its a norm for the stall to prepare so much for weekend because its a weekend *duh*

or, it could be me and my damaged tastebuds because of the early morning call and also the long journey. everything is so rushed that... eat also no peace wtf.

Haha, for a more complete food review, pls come back to this blog in the future yeah. Will be planning a trip there again, and eat more stuff. And i'll make sure i'm not too grumpy to eat and also i wake my tastebuds up before eating anything ok. :)

And oh yahhhh, how could anyone, any living-breathing person go to MUAR and NOT eat their famous Otak? Not brain, but fish stuff.

Alright, I confess, I wasnt a fan of Otak. Tastes weird and its spicy, not the kind of spiciness that i like. my mum likes otak tho.

I had like 2 of this and had to stop eating cause i found fish bone is both of the otak i ate. like seriously i dont know why fish bones like me. my friend had FOUR of those thing and saw/taste/ate no fish bone at all.

and like i said, my taste buds was still sleeping so..... I'll leave the food talk till next time muahahahhaha...

This dessert shop is a few months old in Sunway Pyramid. Walked past quite often but didn't want to try it. Until one fateful day when my tastebuds decides to be more adventurous...

Had this dessert EXACTLY one month ago for the very first time. Quite nice, as it is different from what I had expected. :) Sorry, I am a fan of Snowflakes, and I thought this is one of the copycats, but well done! Totally exceeds my expectation. I even posted the picture in my Facebook, and some friends has been giving good reviews on this.

So, this is quite recommendable, and the picture above is their signature dessert priced at RM7.90 if I'm not mistaken...

Tip: Need to dig below the toppings to reveal the awesomeness. Altho the topping alone is awesome enough already, hehe...

And the for whole week, I was at different desserts shops around Subang. Don't know what went wrong with me, but now I know why I was so broke last month. hehe...

Had a sudden plan on Saturday night to go down to Muar, Johor for 1 day trip on Sunday. My first time ever in Muar. And of course, I went because Gary was there.

Started the journey at 11am only, and told the other car that we will be leaving at 9am something. Hehe, still in bed at that time LOL.

Actually, I still do not believe that I actually drove down to Muar just to see Cao Ge. OMG!! In the midst of assignments dateline some more. Seriously, if you think I'm crazy, I think I am too. He is my exception.

First time ever in Muar!! Took alot of pictures, will blog about it next time, busy 2 weeks ahead. Sigh...

My Happiest Moment

A picture is worth a thousand words, that's what they said.

To me, a picture captures unforgettable moments. Sometimes, there are those moments that we never know existed. For the past few hours, I have been looking through my picture folder in search for the picture that describes "the happiest moment". In the process, I discovered that there are many forgotten memories from high school, college and my 3 years in university.

I love capturing memories, and I believe that memories are best captured through candid pictures. I do not have candid shots here because the people in the pictures have denied the permission for me to post.

Anyways, when I look back at pictures taken from the past, those moments that happen at that particular moment when the picture is taken flashes through my mind. And I am not the kind of person that has the most excellent memory. So to me, photos are important tool to help me remember.

Well, I can never decide which my “happiest” moment is. So, I’ll just let the pictures do the talking. All the pictures posted here are either from 2004 or 2005. IF I were to post all the pics that screams happiness to me, this post would be super damn long.

This is me when I was 15. or maybe 14. Back then, although I was quite fat, but still, thinner than what I am now. I remember, at that time, I have very low self-esteem, I feel that I am the ugliest person in the world (ok I know, I'm not pretty, but at least I have two eyes, one nose and one mouth), but now, many years later, when I look back at this picture, I realise how stupid I was back then to have such thoughts.

This was taken during a church camp in Cameron Highlands. Look so terrible cause didn't get enough sleep. Miss the moment there, knowing new people, knowing God and having fun activities. And that is Caroline, one of my good friends I know through church. Ahhh, memories....

I almost didnt go to this camp.

Some people say I'm crazy.

This might the one of the 'stupidest' thing I did at that time.

If I had not captured this sunset, I would not have remembered seeing this on the way back from Nilai, Seremban after attending Interact Conference. Met alot of new people there and some stayed as friends even until now. :)

Sorry for the blurry picture, the bus was moving at that time. I still remember this is taken at the Teluk Intan bridge. The picture is blurred cause was taken in a moving bus. And it looked perfectly fine in my camera's super small screen. That's why a new camera with bigger screen is a better option. *hint hint*

I remember on that day, I went to school late, cycled there, and wore the school shirt because I was afraid that if I wore normal home shirt, the guards wouldn't let me in. Still young and naive at that time hehehe.... Anyways, the day was spent taking lots of pictures like this, playing Othello, and other interesting, mind boggling games.

I believe this is the first picture of us together after many, many years.... We used to loathe each other so much that we do not even talk. Sad childhood for both of us.

She was almost leaving already, and then we spend time taking memories. I seriously missed the times spent in school.... the crazy things we did, the crazy tuition schedule after school, the friends we spent most of the time with, the games we played, the cocuriculum activities that forces you to come back in the evening.... yeah, those are happy memories....

This is a picture taken with my yearmates, during choral speaking competition that has nothing to do with me at all. I was there just to support them, ehehheheheh...... And they won!!!! I still remember they were speaking on Cartoons xD

Went to visit a orphanage in Ayer Tawar together with Interact Club members. One of the reason why I joined Interact Club. It was a fun-filled and tiring day. Missed the moment. <3

But I love to join, and was really happy when they didn't kick me out of the carolling team. Everyone knows how bad I sings now *horror*

Ohhhhh happy moment, Ida's birthday. THE FIRST EVER birthday party that I was invited to. Seriously. I dont know why people don't like to do birthday party in my hometown. I never had a birthday party. So happy that day that I was actually attending a birthday party... Alot of embarrassing things happened also lah, and I'm not telling :x

Nuffnang + Churp2 @ Chatime Publika

Last Saturday, I got invited to the first ever Nuffnang and Churp Churp "mingling session" together. It's also my first time ever to attend any Nuffnang events. I am a member of both, and I didn't know that Churpers also went. Lucky I went to find the place before the actual day, if not gg.com already... It's not listed in Google maps, and even my GPS also cannot help me lol.

And this is my first ever Nuffnang event that I went... *Wahlao... very scary lor, somemore i anti-social...* I thought things would change when I am there... But nope, I end up more terrified of the people there than before I got there LOL. *failed kao kao at trying to be more social*

The event was held at Eat Food Village *interesting name for food court*. Very nice and empty food court *because it's new*. There's like lots of famous yummy food there, got CHILI pan mee, got yam rice, got alot more other stuff that I cannot remember lah... For Muslim friends, the place is non-halal unless you're in mood for Penang food by Lorong Seratus Tahun.

Oh ya, we were allowed to bring guest also, so I brought Chloe along because I am THAT scared of strangers LOL. At first was thinking of going alone, venturing into a unfamiliar territory~ hmmph, I must be crazy when I thought of that.

Everyone was given RM20 worth of Publikash to spend on food and CHATIME!

Every one of us was given a cash voucher of rm20 that we could spend on food and drinks on that day itself. First thing we did was to queue up for Chatime. There was quite a long queue. See, see... For real it's free ok... :) Happy mood on for the whole day...

Didn't take much pictures during the whole thing... Well, actually I took but its in my friend's camera so,... forget it.

A day out with good-hearted-souls

Last weekend, me and some friends decided to join the kind-souls from Amoeba Team for a visit to children's home. Click on their Facebook link to know more about them. If you're lazy, then here is an introduction about them I copied from their Facebook.

Amoeba Team is a group of individuals standing on the same platform to learn through organizing a variety of events. Empowering young people and nurturing the new generation definitely entice positive culture thus contributing to the society.

The meet-up point was at an LRT station in PJ, but due to some unforseen circumstances (ie. Vernice's housemates was hogging the one and only bathroom in her house), so we were late and unable to meet up with the rest of the gang.

The location was at Rumah Hope, at Paramount Garden. Being a noob and in an unfamiliar territory, I got lost on my way there. Was not able to find the place, and GPS decided to not help me that day.Luckily, we stopped and asked a very confused uncle. Hehehe...

Me: *Stop the car and wave enthusiastically*

Uncle: *Gives a weird stare and probably freak out a little*

V: *tries to open the window and finally get out of the car* Hi, uncle! I would like to know where is Jalan xx/x... Do you know where isit?

Uncle: The roads here are all odd numbers, its 3, 5, 7, 9, 11.... I don't know where is 2...

Me: owhhhhhhhh.... *die*

Uncle: Do you have any friends that you could call? Perhaps they can help you~

Me: *hestitate* Umm, yeah we have, but.... Anyway, thanks yeah....

Uncle: Where are you guys going?

Me: Do you, by any chance know where is Rumah Hope?

Uncle: Yeah I know. You want to go there you say earlier lah, you tell me Jalan this Jalan that I dont know, but you tell me Rumah Hope then I know... *gives the directions to the place*

Really, thanks alot to the uncle, if not we will be going round and round and round that area till night also cannot reach. Whoever named the roads and constructed that whole PJ area must have sucked in numbers. And planning. LOL.

When we finally arrived, they have already started playing games with the kids. :) They are still introducing themselves, so we were not that late and lost xD Everyone of the volunteers had at least one kid assigned to them, and the kids are free to choose for themselves. So sad though, none of the kids come running to me... I'm bad with kids :(

The concept of the game is that every one of the child has a cartoon character or superhero,
and they are supposed to remember. When the blinds are put down, they are supposed to shout
the superhero of the person opposite. Extreme memory game that I suck at.

I am not the kind of person who would go on these kind of visits,
its not because I don't like to go,
its not because I'm terrified on how would I interact with kids,
its because there are so many strangers that I never met before.
I am anti-social like that.
But from the visit, I get to know a few friends,
and have been talking to each other almost everyday.

I never knew I would say this,
but it felt like I know them for very long already.

I would never, ever, ever go to sing-k with strangers.
Never in a million years of my life.
But, within the first few days knowing them,
we already had our first outing to sing-k.

hehe.

So, that basically sums up my visit to a children's home with Amoeba Team. Totally a better way to spend my weekend, because my weekends are usually wasted on assignments, playing games or staring at the wall on Facebook, or sleeping. Seriously, thank you Amoeba for providing this opportunity for me to do what I have always wanted to do.

I went home that day feeling excited and happy, and tired of course, and told my housemate about it. She just say why do I waste my time doing such thing. I beg to differ lor, this is not wasting my time. One point to salute the team is that, they have continuously been doing this for over a year already, and this is the kind of things that not many people would normally spend their "precious" time on. And some of them are working adults, which means that weekends are very important to them, but they selflessly spend it on doing community work. *Salute them for their effort and time, and also for making all this happen :)

PPS: My kid that day was a 17 year old girl, and will be taking SPM this year. She don't look like 17 though *jealous* heheh... Anyways, I wish her all the best in SPM and I know she won't be able to see this but I still want to wish can or not? Hope she do great in her exams *heart*

Chicken Nest Bao (Gai Wo Bao)

This is the continuation from the previous post. The discovery of this restaurant and the bao is quite... random. Well as usual, when i wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is to check Facebook. My friend posted a link on my wall, and said that we should go to hunt for this after exam. Then, at night on the same day, I went out with a few other friends, and they decided to have supper at that restaurant. I was not familiar with that area, so I didn't know at all it's the same restaurant posted on my wall in the morning. Then, someone ordered the bao, and it looked oh-so-familiar...

The friend that posted on my wall asked me to tapao, since I am already there, and so I did. 3am in the morning.

This is how the packing looks like. I was surprised to see the nice box because I thought they will just put it in the styrofoam box. They charge me RM6.00 for the bao. The box is specially designed to fit one bao in it.

Ta-daa!!!! The whole of Chicken Nest Bao. Now you know why is it called Gai Wo Bao? Because, the outside is shaped like a chicken nest!! Hahaha, actually that's my best guess, i have no idea as well. Well, this bao is a combination of a meat bao and loh mai kai.

The shop claims that they are the only shop in the whole Malaysia to sell this bao. There are newspaper clippings hanging on the extension atap outside the shop.

The insides of the bao. As you can see in the picture, the ingredients are plenty. The meat are cut in quite big chunks, and mushroom too. There's something to bite at least.

The skin of the bao (the entire white area) is chewy, and thats the part i love the most. They are not stingy with the ingredients, which I think is the value for money. Many business now charge very expensive for food, but you cant see the ingredients. And this pau, has a nasi pulut base, which is the loh mai kai.

One week after that, me and the same friend decided to drop by the shop to have another taste of the bao. But time time, they only charge us RM4.80 because we ate there. Quite nonsense if you tell me, forcing the customer to pay an additional of RM1.20 for the specially printed box. It felt like we have to pay for their advertisement lol.

The second bao look a bit dry compared to the first one. haha, look at my not-so-healthy dimsum in the background.

Here, bao + loh mai kai = gai wo bao!

The place sells dim sum also and is open for supper.

Lao Sha Bao

Last night, I was super hungry, although I just had dinner not too long ago. So, we set out for yam-cha session with another friend, but at the very last minute, she had something else on and couldn't join us, and we were at unfamiliar territory, so we went to the only familiar place we knew.

I went there few days back, for my dinner. It was other people's supper, but my dinner. 12.30am.

The place is apparently famous for it's Chicken Nest Bao, *pics will be updated* and it was by chance they choose to dine there that night. I thought the bao they ordered looked familiar, and that's cause my friend had posted the picture on my facebook wall in the morning. How random is that.... Having someone posting the picture on your wall in the morning and you are there at the restaurant without even knowing its the same one. Get me?

Well, last night, Vernice ordered an extra, Lao Sha Bao, as pictured above. It cost RM2, and its super tiny. Two bites and its gone.

The Chicken Nest Bao cost RM4.80 if you dine there, and RM6 if you take away. Why the huge gap in the price difference? Well, our guess was that they packed the bao in a nicely printed box, and you pay for the box. Maybe I'll do an introduction on the famed Chicken Nest Bao on my next post.

It's 1.55am now, and looking at the picture and writing this post makes me hungry. Nooooo, I can't eat. I have to wake up at 5am today, because I'm going on a triiiippppp!!!

Magical Musical!!

Last weekend, I had my hands on a pair of VIP tickets for Magical Musical!!!

The musical is happening at Sunway Lagoon Ampiteather, every night except Tuesdays, 7.30pm. 9.30pm shows are available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

If you have no idea what is it about, here's the summary of the musical I copied from Sunway Lagoon's website.

"Set amidst the bright lights of Times Square in New York's Broadway Theatre district, the story begins with 6 budding performers auditioning for a new show.

Discover how they encounter turmoils, despair and finally find fame, fortune and love on the streets of Broadway. Directed and choreographed by award-winning West End professionals, the show spans 2 acts with over 35 songs and performed by a cast of over 30 dancers and singers.

6 leading West End performers supported by international dancers will take you on a rollercoaster ride through the best musicals of all time. With stunning costumes, choreography and jaw-dropping voices, this musical extravaganza brings Times Square to life, complete with giant LED screens, dazzling lighting and explosive pyrotechnics!"

My show is at 9.30pm, but we reached there at 8.50pm. We're the first persons at the front gate yo! Not the practice of kiasu-ism ok, it's just that we wanted to ask what time is it exactly. Shortly after, more people arrive, and actually queued up in front of us. Oi, cut queue lahh!!

The door opens at 9pm, and being Malaysians, we ushered ourselves into the trem which is waiting to bring us to the Ampitheater.

VIP ZONE!!

Pardon my excitement here, but how many times can I get to sit in VIP zone? Even for Gary Chaw's concert also I didn't get the VIP Zone tickets.

I have no idea on whether I can take pictures during the performances, but at the start of the musical they reminded the audience that flash photography is not allowed, so I assume that photography without flash is allowed. My show is the 2nd for the night, and the casts had just done with the 7.30pm show, and it's a wonder how they manage to have the energy to sing and dance shortly after. I doubt they even had a 10 minute break. The show started with songs from Hairspray (omgosh me love). And then with alot more songs from alot more musicals that I am not familiar with. And thus, I will not elaborate further.

Busy Sunday

This is how I spent my Sunday, despite having a major assignment due on Monday (and knowing me, I am a huge procrastinator) and another presentation as well.

I only had 2 hours sleep the night before, because of some idiotic housemate who doesn't know how to open the door slowly. Woke up at 6.30am, dragged myself out of bed in order not to be late, and went to work at 7.30am on a SUNDAY! (yes, its a Sunday)

I like to work, especially it's part times like this, because I get to meet people and I generally like working part time. :D And, I learn from work too. How awesome is that?

Then, work ends at 1.30pm, and came back, showered and went to Cheras for a video shooting.

Life is good. The other people have been there since 9am, and I only reached at 3pm. From the shoot I realise how the professionals do it. With a dslr and NG parts xD (Unlike me, I just use a small point and shoot for my assignment video)

I had 2 lines! lol. Had trouble pronouncing because I'm not used to following script and the level of Chinese is a bit advanced for me. But all is well, but I suck tho. :(

Ahhh... Let's hope they don't kill me when they video is out. :)
